Jean Wright

Certified Leadership Coach, Organizational Development Consultant,

and Change Management Practitioner

Using my unique combination of experience as an internal and external consultant in areas such as human resources, organizational development, conflict, change management, emergency services, and systems analysis, I help leaders and organizations make sense out of transition. Together, we work through the messiness and confusion of change to solve problems, achieve major initiatives and goals, and move forward better than before. My clients’ transitions are triggered by chronic demands, conflict, organizational change, promotion, shift in position or role, challenging initiatives, loss/grief, growing dissatisfaction or lack of joy in leading, or a sense of a gap between what is and what is wanted. My core focus is supporting human beings as they search and achieve something valued out of turbulent times and rekindle their leadership.

My work with people and organizations in transition stems from her experience navigating major changes (some disappointing) in my life and career and emerging resilient, whole, strong, and adept. I noticed that this adaptive pattern opened important developmental work and catapulted fulfillment at work and in life. My attributes are key success factors – stay hopeful, adjust perspective, know self, and sense the work environment for strategic opportunities. This practiced adaptive pattern helped me during the most challenging and traumatic event in my life, the loss of my son in 2015.

As someone who appreciates the desire live life to the fullest in a sometimes-overwhelming world, I help individuals regain a sense of balance, wellbeing, and fulfillment. My clients’ transitions are triggered by chronic demands, conflict, organizational change, promotion, shift in position or role, challenging initiatives, loss/grief, growing dissatisfaction or lack of joy in leading, or a sense of a gap between what is and what is wanted. My balance of support and challenge aid my client’s exploration of what would bring fulfillment to their personal or professional life and help them move forward with a renewed sense of self and action.

While I bring these experiences to my work and coaching relationships, I also bring a curious mind and the desire to learn about others’ individuality and identity and learn from others’ as they develop their resilience and well-being.  My clients are some of my greatest teachers and a source of inspiration.

"I believe that growth and development are natural.  For those who are intentional about their development, coaching may accelerate the natural development process."

My coaching approach is rooted in supporting the client’s exploration of what would bring fulfillment to their personal or professional life. Because living a life of fulfillment means something different to everyone, I adapt my approach to the individual’s needs as they discover and sustain new habits for themselves.

My coaching is influenced by my curiosity and studies in adult development theory, brain-based research (neuroscience), transformation/change research and practices, emotional intelligence, constructive conflict approaches, and well-being practices. I leverage these concepts to open new perspectives for my clients and myself and enhance resilience, balance, and fulfillment in life. My clients can trust me to hear them with love and understanding of their values, identity, priorities, and goals, which rarely happens elsewhere in their lives.

In addition to coaching, I appreciate nature and adventure – you will find me hiking, paddle boarding, gardening, bicycling, and travel to places outside of city limits. I enjoy front porch conversation with good company and my Labrador retrievers - Java, Mocha, Latte. I live in awe and appreciation of the journey of human development.
